Bosom Buddy Friday

Forks, Spoons and Butter Knives, too!!

We will be having a guest post today. Jessi's little sister, Mikayla, is very talented with making jewelry and hair pieces. She also makes origami flowers. In fact, she made over 500 paper flowers in the past year for a school play and a wedding! She is a high school senior who loves anything drama or musical. We love crafting with her.

Take it away Mikayla!

I would say I am so excited to be on here, but I was awake until
midnight doing this. {Just kidding.} I am happy to be doing Bosom Buddy Friday. There are so many things that are put on Pintrest, and that is where I went first for an idea on a what to do for a craft. You have
all seen these fork rings, right? Well, I was on Pintrest, and as I was
scrolling along I came across these!
Looks easy right? Ha ha Don't worry it will be easier than you may think.

First, here is what you will need:
1. Unneeded or unused forks and or spoons.
2. 2 pairs of pliers
3.  Really rough Sandpaper
4. Torch ( Very important, almost impossible to do without it!
First, you need to take the pipe cutters and cut the fork where the
handle meets the base or at your desired length.

After that you will want to use the sandpaper to smooth out any sharp
edges that might have been made by the pipe cutters.
Then, find a place outside that would be safe to use the torch in. Heat
up your fork handle, and while it is still hot take the two pliers and
bend it to the desired shape and size. (I tried to do this without
heat and it was nearly impossible.) It's fun to get older forks so that
you can get some unique rings. If you use heat it should only take 30
minutes to do a few rings. (Without heat it will take much longer.)
Hope you like them! Happy blogging!

Thanks Mikayla!
{FYI-We highly recommend using heat to shape the rings.}
