I have been blessed with pretty decent skin thus far in my life. **Knocks on wood.** Every now and a again, I get really bad hormonal acne (acne that tends to appear along the jaw and chin). This type of acne is caused by hormonal imbalances, like stress. For me, if I'm stressed, I get a pimple...or two...or three. The past month was apparently quite stressful for me because my chin has become a World War II battlefield. It gets super red, swollen, and majorly painful.
Keeping with our LOVE yourself February theme, I wanted to find a fix. Stat. There's nothing like zits to make you feel less than beautiful.
Sometimes, while Noah naps, I catch parts of Dr. Oz. I remembered that I saw an episode a few months ago about acne and natural remedies to help it "ride its course" more quickly. I searched for the recipe of the face scrub that I saw on that episode, but I didn't have any luck. Fast forward to two weeks ago. I was looking through pins on Pinterest, and low and behold! The exact Dr Oz face acne face scrub I was looking for!
All you need is non-coated aspirin and lemon juice. I made the mistake of using what I had on hand, which was coated aspirin. The scrub became much more of a harsh, gritty paste rather than the smooth paste I figure using the non-coated would make.
Crush the aspirin in a container or bowl.
Slowly add the lemon juice until it is a medium to thick paste.
Gently scrub onto your face, focusing on the spots that need most attention.
In doing research, lemon can help a lot of skin flaws-dark spots, rough elbows or knees, and help get rid of blackheads to name a few. {Source} After the acne scrub, I noticed a glow to my skin. My assumption is that glow is from the lemon, so you could put some lemon juice on a cotton ball to apply to your face for the same effect. The troubled acne area (my chin) had a significant reduction in redness and swelling.

Love the Freckles! I can't wait to try this!
