Ambush Makeover

March Madness is in full swing! Spring was too, until it snowed last night in Utah. Jessi definitely picked a great night to leave back to Georgia!

While Jessi was in Utah, we had the best time shopping and surprising her aunt, Shelly, with an AMBUSH MAKEOVER. We went bargain shopping for her complete outfit. The total cost of her outfit, excluding the shoes she already had, is $44.00. Shelly was so excited when we told her! Her face is priceless!! (Don't mind the crying baby in the background. Haha)

This is her BEFORE picture
( I know..already a babe)

First, we gave her hair a bit more curl using a 1 1/2" Hot Tools Iron. Then, using her own makeup, we helped enhance her beautiful face. One thing both Tillys love, and it's a guilty pleasure that we'll spend a little more on, is Benefit's They're Real Mascara. It seriously makes your eyelashes look like extensions or falsies. We love it! Here's an example of Jessi's "regular" mascara before and the Benefit mascara after.

This is a close up of the make up we applied.
She looks so good. Bet you can't guess her age!!

Her pants are from Charlotte Russe. Online these pants are $29.99, but in store they are only $14.99! Can't beat that for a cute pair of bright colored legging jeans!
The perfectly fitted yellow shirt is from Forever 21 for $15.60. Shelly is such a fun, loving, happy person, so we felt yellow would help that personality jump right out!
The necklace is also from Forever 21 for $12. We love the pastel colors of the necklace, and it compliments the outfit so well.

Random advice for shopping at places like Forever 21:
I know every time I go into a store like Forever 21 or H&M, I immediately get super overwhelmed. So, I end up not getting anything or I give up and go buy something from another store in the mall, which usually has a higher price tag. What I have found that helps me is going with a color in mind. If you know you want a black shirt, for example, you'll be able to sort through the chaos better, focusing on all shirts that are black.

We had so much fun helping Shelly remember how gorgeous she is! We love you, Shelly Belly!
(We apologize for the late night cell phone photos in the post. With our little children on our hips, the only time we found to do this makeover was after they were all in bed!)
